Escape to the Country

Kirkton Farmhouse provides an atmosphere of comfort, peace and relaxation. Downy beds, contemporary bathrooms, delicious food, all set in a beautiful garden in the rolling Border hills. By sun or candlelight, Kirkton Farmhouse is the place to unwind.

Kirkton Farmhouse is a traditional Victorian home, blending period charm and contemporary style. The property is located in peaceful countryside just three miles from the mill town of Hawick, famous for cashmere and the Common Ridings. Here you will find restaurants and shops. Kirkton garden is full of vegetables and fruit in the summer, and surrounded by farmland, as the name suggests. On colder days fires glow in the hearths. We provide a genuine and warm welcome. Come and stay and we are sure you will have an enjoyable and memorable time.

Kirkton is the perfect location for walking and cycling.  The lovely Borders Abbeys Walk runs from Denholm to Hawick and then on to Ashkirk, following the Teviot for much of its route.  Lesser known paths ascend the hills opening up to stunning views and enjoying magnificent peace and tranquility.  We have a boot room for that important footwear, safe storage for bicycles and masses of drying space if you get caught in the rain.  We can also provide packed lunches and flasks.
